Software Development Kit Workflow Description
The SmartInstrument network integration provides an overview about the course carried out to congregate the user requirements.There are two primary interacting systems which are connected via wired/wireless network, these are;
1. Any Third Party Application
2. A SmartInstrument(SI).
To interact with the SmartInstrument, the developer has to employ the specified SDK DLL and provide references of the DLL in the application as every distinct function and command specifications are clearly defined in the DLL. When the developer has successfully referenced the SmartInstrument.dll, he can access all the functions and commands by simply typing SmartInstrument.CommandName or SmartInstrument.FunctionName (parameters).
Once this command / function is properly written in the user/system defined event in the third party application, during the runtime, these commands are activated upon invoking those events where the developer coded SI SDK functions and commands.
If the Commands are issued via a third party application event, each command directly calls the SmartInstrument and subsequently executes the commands. If this is not the case, it returns an error to the third party application which is runs on the Host Machine.
If the functions are executed using the third party application events, the Host application which is the third party application, handles the process where the developer writes codes to establish absolute control over the functionalities offered by the SmartInstrument SDK. When the set of codes are executed, it communicates with the SmartInstrument to obtain values which are essential for the third party application. Further, the SmartInstrument returns these values to the host machine where the third party application was running.
SmartInstrument SDK 1.1 version supports .net2 platform and windows based operating systems. This SDK kit only permits the features of the RFID to access the host application via the SmartInstrument.
