NextGen Image Control System (ICS)
The Image Control System (ICS) created by NextGen is a step closer to a paperless office where indexing, storing and management of all scanned documents within your NextGen system is made possible. It is fully integrated with NextGen EPM and NextGen EMR, this feature-rich system provides you with the ability to scan any document virtually, from progress notes and patient charts to lab results and insurance cards. All images are stored in a central library, enabling users to search for and locate images within seconds, rendering them instantly accessible at your desktop without time-consuming interfaces to third-party imaging products.
The ICS also includes standard enhancement imaging functionalities and is compatible with any TWAIN-compliant scanner, from economy to production models. You can scan multiple pages “in batch” for greater efficiency, and NextGen ICS even captures two-sided documents.
After the document is scanned, storage and retrieval of the record are performed using NextGen ICS standard system files (such as encounter number, medical record number, and patient number). These fields can also be customized to match your practice’s needs (listing documents by payer, clinical document type, or date, for example).
NextGen ICS also supports barcodes to simplify indexing, scanning from remote locations, and the ability to store the documents at the remote office or in the central database. While facilitating this level of flexibility, the network-friendly ICS software does not consume all of your practice’s bandwidth or impact overall NextGen system performance.
